Mountain Living is: Nature, Community, Relaxation and Activities.
A lot of people see Mammoth Lakes as just a ski hill or a place you only go to in the summer. The truth is there's something going on out in nature all year long. Summer is the best time to enjoy our lakes (lakes is part of our town name). Spring is my favorite time to photograph our abundant wildlife. Fall brings out the hiker in me. And as for winter, well I've already purchased my ski pass for next year.
The people you meet in Mammoth seem to be a different breed. The kind of people who use their only day off to go look for a missing dog. Instead of being an anonymous face in the crowd, your neighbor knows your name and watches your house while your out of town.
The pace up here changes once you're off the highway. No one is ever too busy to not stop and chat at the Von's. No one needs to speed because nothing is more than 10 minutes away. That's not to say that things don't get done. The crisp fresh air can always put the bounce in your step.
Though you can disconnect and have your private time, with so many outdoor activities, concerts, restaurants and social mixers it's easy to meet people and make new friends.
I'd like to say that I chose to live in Mammoth for all these reasons, but the truth is, the mountains chose

Dawn Vereuck is the owner and principle of Mountain Living - Interiors & Design. Born and raised in the Los Angeles, Dawn first visited the Eastern Sierras as young child. In 1976 her family purchased a second home in Mammoth Lakes where she was spent summer and winter vacations. After receiving her degree in English from U.C. Santa Barbara, she returned to Los Angeles. Dawn worked as an estimator and purchasing agent for her family’s mechanical contracting and plumbing business, where she gained invaluable experience and knowledge on the ins and outs of the construction industry. When an offer to move to Mammoth Lakes full time presented itself in 2001, she seized the opportunity and began working in the softer side of construction. This is where she honed her kitchen & bath design skills.
Dawn’s desire to understand the needs of her clients sets her apart. Her commitment is to provide her clients with the best design that also complements their lifestyle. She approaches each project with a focus on aesthetics, functionality and quality, yet still keeping an eye on the bottom line. Over the years, Dawn has developed great working relationships with qualified, licensed contractors and subcontractors. Her extensive construction background, personal relationships within the industry, plus her hands-on presence on each jobsite give Dawn the perfect set of tools to design the space, specs and product selection.
